About Us

Janasabha is a people-centered platform that brings together residents, volunteers, and local institutions to work collaboratively for the common good of communities. Its core purpose is to strengthen community integration and contribute for the sustainable development of our nation. India can achieve true progress only when development begins at the grassroots. New generation is losing pride and sense of duty towards their own community. This trend can affect the very purpose of our nation, India. Janasabha is the remedy for it.

Janasabha is organized by a forum of voluntary workers dedicated to community development. It is committed to fostering sustainable community development by applying proven social-work methods at the neighbourhood level. Janasabha Commune (includes Ayal Janasabhas and Community Co-ordination Council) is organized at community level. It organizes various activities like Civic Education, Snehasparsam Charities, Talent Hunting programmes, etc to nurture community participation, leadership, and mutual support.

Janasabha is committed for transparency in its activities and does not promote any commercial or political interests. We are not affiliated with any religion, race, or political party. But welcome all to work together for Unity, Peace, and Development of our own communities and neibourhoods. We actively seek support from like minded community leaders, resource persons, social-work institutions and capacity-building/educational centers to organize Janasabhas at community level.

Our Vision

A united, self-reliant, and harmonious community where every person actively contributes to the well-being and progress of the community.

Our Mission

To strengthen fraternity among the neighborhood residents.
To promote inclusive development by integrating community resources, skills, and ideas.
To support volunteer-led initiatives for Community Service.
To identify and nurture leadership and all kinds of talents.
To empower children, youth, women, and elderly.
To promote and propagate the values of Indian Constitution and provide Civic education.
To document and share the inspiring stories/events of the communities.

Organizational Structure

Janasabha follows a bottom-up model of community empowerment:
Ayal Janasabhas (Neighborhood Assemblies)
– unite local residents to discuss needs, share ideas, and take action.
Community Janasabhas
– coordinate efforts across Ayal Janasabhas and ensure equitable participation.
The Above two levels together called as Janasabha Commune .

District and State Janasabha Volunteers' Forums
– Federations of Janasabha Volunteers and Representatives.
– Mobilize and motivate Janasabha Commune
– Get secular trainings and experiences for future leadership of our society.

Together, these levels form a vibrant structure of participation — where ideas grow, voices are heard, and development becomes a shared journey.

Mannanam Janasabha

Mannanam is a historic and well-known village in the Kottayam district. It is the karmic land of Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara, one of the foremost leaders of the Kerala Renaissance. This sacred place is where Kerala’s model for public education training began, where Deepika—the oldest Malayalam daily—was founded, and where the first Indian Christian monastic community was established. Sree Narayana Guru, the great Renaissance leader and saint who fought against social evils in Kerala, also visited this land. Mannanam has also produced many eminent personalities in politics, bureaucracy, arts, and other fields. Read More
