Mannanam is a historic and well-known village in the Kottayam district. It is the karmic land of Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara,
one of the foremost leaders of the Kerala Renaissance. This sacred place is where Kerala’s model for
public education training began, where Deepika—the oldest Malayalam daily—was founded, and where the first
Indian Christian monastic community was established.
Sree Narayana Guru, the great Renaissance leader and saint who fought against social evils in Kerala, also visited this land.
Mannanam has also produced many eminent personalities in politics, bureaucracy, arts, and other fields.
For the artistic
and cultural growth of the village, we have institutions such as Tagore Kala Kendra, S.N.D.P. Karayogam, N.S.S. Karayogam, and
the Catholic Samajam. Mannanam is also stands as Courtyard of Letters with five educational institutions supporting the overall
development of our community from primary to higher educations.
For our spiritual life, the village has St. Joseph’s Ashram
Church, Kottaram Devi Temple, Guru Mandiram, St. Stephen’s Church, and the Twelve Apostles’ Church. In addition, Mannanam is located
close to major pilgrimage centers such as the Athirampuzha Church, Kumaranallur Temple, and Kudamaloor Church.
Yes, Mannanam is a model for Kerala and India with its community brotherhood, tolerance and human resource capacity.

Snehasparsham charity activities, housing for poor, flood & corona relief activities, Balajanasabha, commemoration of Days, cultural fest, seminars, medical camps, competitions, entrepreneurship training, formation of enterprises, exhibition fairs, honouring, establishment of bus time boards, meets of candidates and winners in Panchayat election, active presence in Gram Sabhas, public cleaning, social interventions, updating news in Social Media, Community e-Magazine, etc. are some of them.
